Recreational Products

The durability of concrete makes it a perfect building material for some of the more nontraditional recreational products.  Precast concrete offers in-shop quality control with minimal on-site forming. Fully cured sections are delivered to the site and assembled.  The finished product can often be used when our trucks leave the site.

Bleachers

A local recreation association commisioned us to build a set of precast concrete bleachers to fit into a small hill surrounding a baseball diamond.  Their other option was wooden bleachers, as seen in the background.  The wooden ones only last about 10 years, and require constant maintenance. Wyevale Precast bleachers feature a seat and back section set on a precast stringer.  The set shown is a three level bleacher.  Each seat section has a painted wooden plank to sit on.  When this plank fails, it can be replaced at a minimal cost to the recreation association. Since these bleachers are supported on stringers, they can also be built above ground.  Closing the back will create some vandal proof storage.

Skateboard Components:

More and more municipalities are recognizing the need for areas where our youth can get together and just be kids.  Skateboard parks are just such an area.  Not only limited to skateboards, these parks lend themselves well to in-line skating, and BMX biking as well as offering a social gathering place. Precast components offer the durability and smooth surface these sports demand.  They can be set directly upon a slab of concrete, or on a gravel base with the slab poured around it.  When a piece is set on a slab, it comes with a steel lip for a smooth transition. These pieces tend to be very large and if solid, heavy.  It took some Wyevale Precast ingenuity to make our part transportable at a cost effective price.

Ready Rink Curbs:

Being located in the center of the Canadian snowbelt, winter sports and recreation is a large part of our culture.  A local service group, together with their municipality approached us to develop a curb that would double as a parking curb in the summer and a skating rink board in the winter. We were able to modify an older style parking curb to accept an 8 foot sheet of plywood and supporting lumber at the ends.  These can be used by service groups, sports bars, and even backyard rinks.
